About Me

About Mackelia

My name is Mackelia Murphy, a passionate second-year Communication Arts & Technology student at the University of Technology, Jamaica, with a growing focus on media production, storytelling, and digital communication. I am deeply committed to using my voice, creativity, and academic training to inform, inspire, and uplift others, whether through journalism, photography, or faith-centered content creation. My journey has also shaped me into someone who values excellence, discipline, and continuous improvement, especially as I build my personal brand, TheKayWay, which reflects confidence rooted in God, femininity, and purposeful living.

I am particularly drawn to youth-oriented communication, sports reporting, and cultural storytelling, as these allow me to merge my love for Jamaican identity with my media skill set. My work spans photography, feature writing, interviews, social media content, and community engagement initiatives such as Mind and Motion JA, a mental-health awareness campaign for Jamaican youth. As I continue to refine my craft, I hope to grow into a media professional who creates meaningful stories, represents Caribbean voices, and uses communication as a tool for positive impact.
